10 best things we did at Glacier National Park

      1.     Watched Sunrise and Sunset at Logan Pass and Rising Sun     When you are at Glacier National Park, your “things-to-do list” should contain watching sunrise or sunset or both at the mountain. We experienced the sunset at Logan Pass Visitor Center. And I must say what an amazing experience we had. Similarly on next morning from 4.30 – 5.00 again we watched sunrise at Logan Pass. We chose that place because it is part of Going-to-the-sun road and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Look at the reddish orange golden mountain tips, they are so pretty. I have just one word for it “WOW”. Look at the gorgeous Sunset hue at the mountain top, it just looks like Golden Crown How about the Sunrise !!! 2.         Car Camping and waking up with a view of Sunrise in mountains and lots of wildlife around us When we were hiking at Glacier National Park and looking for a place to camp and did ...

First Time Campers

Toon: I think it’s better to just travel around and we can probably go to the Park tomorrow and have a picnic. We forgot the utensils anyway. Me: Nah, I think we can still make it, and furthermore, I have booked it for 24 hours and it starts today at 4 pm, so why waste? Toon: Oh, okay then. (Long Pause) Why don’t we just make some sausages and we can probably grill the rest tomorrow morning so for tonight, we have ample time, and we can go to the Butterfly Museum before going to the park. Me: Yes, sure, so is it really that good? You have been there in D.C., right? Toon: Ya, it’s all right, it’s just like a miniature forest inside and butterflies all over you. Me: Let me check that on YouTube. (Watching some videos) It seems all right, I still would like to buy the utensils, probably some cheap ones as we already have them at home, just forgot to bring, and we can do these after coming back from the picnic if we have time, and I think we will.    ...

Trip to GNP ; Part II : Wildlife in Glacier National Park

How many different types of animals did you see when you travelled in Glacier National Park?  We were lucky enough to see bears, white tail deers, mountain goats and bighorn sheeps. What we learnt from our experience is you have to either start early in morning or stay tuned till late evening to see those beautiful animals. In our case both happened because we wanted to do camping every day of our stay and it’s hard to reserve online if you have planned your trip at the very last minute. So we opted for First Come First Serve. Every campground in Glacier National Park has half of their campsites available on FCFS but you have to be there really early to get a site. For example, our first preference was St. Mary Campground while we were travelling from East Glacier towards Logan Pass which was kind of impossible to get as it was very popular and our trip was on federal holiday weekend.
